BCI’s Secondary School consists of three Key Stages, namely; Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 for students aged between 11 to 18 years old.

Lower Secondary

The curriculum is designed to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding that will prepare learners for a smooth transition to Cambridge Upper Secondary. Students are taught eleven subjects with English Language, Mathematics and Science (taught separately as Biology, Physics and Chemistry) being the core subjects. Other subjects include; Geography, History, Literature, Computing, French, Music, Physical Education.

Upper Secondary

The curriculum follows the British educational model. In the Upper Secondary section, courses are accredited through IGCSE examinations at age 16 and GCE Advanced Level exams at age 18. Students aged 14 to 16 are grouped into Forms 4 and 5, with the IGCSE taken at the end of Form 5. The Advanced Level years are referred to as the Lower and Upper Sixth Form, which correspond to Years 12 and 13 in England. The Lower Six corresponds to Grade 12 in both the American and Canadian education systems. All students in the Secondary School are in mixed ability classes.
