The Midwife & Day-care Team Lead will oversee the health, development, and daily care of children aged 3 months and above in the school’s day-care. She will ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, combining her medical expertise with strong leadership skills to manage the day-care team. This role involves health monitoring, early childhood development, staff supervision, and parent communication to provide holistic care for infants and toddlers
Key Responsibilities
1. Child Health & Medical Care:
- Provide basic medical care, first aid, and emergency response when needed.
- Administer medications and treatments with parental consent.
- Track children’s growth, immunisation schedules, and medical history.
- Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards to prevent infections and illnesses.
2. Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and supervise day care caregivers and assistants.
- Plan and assign daily responsibilities for smooth day care operations.
- Train day care staff on best practices in childcare, health, and safety.
- Monitor staff performance and ensure a high standard of care.
3. Childcare & Early Development:
- Establish structured routines for feeding, sleeping, and playtime.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
- Foster positive social interactions among children.
- Ensure an inclusive, loving, and engaging learning environment.
4. Parent Communication
- Provide regular updates on children’s well-being, milestones, and needs.
- Offer guidance on nutrition, hygiene, and child development.
- Organise parent workshops and meetings to enhance child care awareness
5. Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure the day care operates in compliance with school policies and childcare regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of attendance, incidents, and health reports.
- Implement strict child protection and safety protocols.
- Inspect day care equipment, toys, and facilities for safety and hygiene.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Midwifery, Nursing, or Early Childhood Development.
- Certification in Pediatric First Aid (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of infant and toddler care, nutrition, and development.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent communication, patience, and nurturing abilities.
- Ability to handle emergencies with calmness and professionalism.
